Pottery classes
Afternoon / Evening Classes
These classes are offered in the afternoon or the evening at certain times of year.
The groups are small, never more than six students, and very “hands-on.” Since I have three wheels, there is plenty of opportunity for throwing pots as well as for hand building. Beginners and more advanced students are equally welcome.

Raku firings
This is a “fun” session which allows you to experience glazing and firing a pot yourself, which you can then take away. George provides a biscuit-fired pot which students glaze and fire in a small kiln. The pots are removed from the kiln whilst still red hot and covered with sawdust which develops the glaze colours and produces unique effects.
The session lasts for about 3 hours and is suitable for groups of 4 – 6 people.

Weekend course
These are aimed at giving people an introduction to throwing or for improving skills. The course consists of two 3 hour sessions held on Sat / Sun Mornings or Sat / Sun Afternoons. All students have their own wheel and what they make in the first session, they finish in the second one. Students choose a glaze, George glazes the pots and when they have been fired they are collected or sent to the student.
Weekend courses are for a minimum of 3 people and a voucher for a weekend course makes an ideal gift.
